With nearly two decades of enthusiastic dedication to the art of fly fishing, Scott emerges as a seasoned guide and instructor. His journey began in Maryland, where his roots intertwined with the serenity of nature. Over the span of 26 years nestled in Breckenridge, Colorado, Scott's affinity for the great outdoors flourished, becoming inseparable from the essence of Colorado itself.
During his tenure as Orvis endorsed head guide at Breckenridge Outfitter spanning 16 years, Scott honed his craft, shaping experiences for countless enthusiasts. Venturing beyond borders, he led expeditions to Ascension Bay, Mexico, enriching his understanding of diverse fishing environments.
In the past 5 years, Scott has transitioned back to the East Coast alongside his cherished family, rekindling his connection with the waters of his upbringing. This return has allowed him to intertwine his lifelong passion with his calling to educate and guide others in the art of fly fishing, providing memorable experiences for discerning clientele.
Trips & Packages
We provide all the essential equipment—rods, reels, and flies—so you’re fully prepared for an amazing day on the water. Complimentary soft drinks and water are available throughout your trip. Lunch will be provided for all 8-hour trips, and details will be discussed during the booking process. Check below for a list of items you should bring. Get ready for an unforgettable day of fishing!
We kindly ask you bring:

Your Maryland fishing license is required before every trip

A packed lunch (for packages under 8 hours)

Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Rain Jacket, any medical medicine needed (ie: epipens and inhalers)
A $100 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking, and can be paid by check or Venmo towards the total cost of the trip. The remainder is to be paid on the day of the trip by check or cash. Call to get Venmo information.
In order to better serve you, in the event of inclement weather or poor water conditions, as determined by Scott Penn, deposits can be put towards a rescheduled date within a year's time. Trips cancelled within 3 days of scheduled trip are required to pay 50% of total due.

2-Hour Instructional
Our 2 hour trips are great for beginner or entry level fly anglers. They can be tailored to a family with kids, over the age of 10, who have zero fishing experience or to the experts who want to get a quick casting refresher. A great quick trip option to hit the water in the nearby area.

Half-Day Float Trip
Our float trips are a great for any level of fly fisherman and are set apart from the rest because your whole experience is based off of floating the river. This means you get to see a lot more water throughout the day as your guide is rowing you through it. These experiences are perfect for both fishermen and non-fishermen, as the stunning beauty of the Potomac River is sure to be a highlight for anyone visiting. Duration: 4 to 5 hours on the water.

Full-Day Float Trip
Our float trips are a great for any level of fly fisherman. The float trips are set apart from the rest because your whole experience is based off of floating the river. This means you get to see a lot more water throughout the day as your guide is rowing you through it. These experiences are perfect for both fishermen and non-fishermen, as the stunning beauty of the Potomac River is sure to be a highlight for anyone visiting. Duration: 7 to 8 hrs on the water.
